Hello my friends, Happy Friday. You have all seen them I am sure, the bumper stickers that say something like, “God bless everyone, period!”. Indeed, God Bless Everyone. Every thinking, caring, God-fearing American would not think otherwise.
Where does this strange resentment come from? How is it that any American would think that we all don’t want God’s blessings on Asians, Africans, Europeans, etc.? After all, we mortgage the farm to send aid to other nations, whether they deserve it or not. We try to liberate primitive, hopeless societies from ruthless dictators and tyrants.
After we vanquish truly evil people and champion democracy, freedom, human rights and the woman’s right to dignity……some of our own people still think we are not a noble nation. It boggles the mind. Only a deep-seated resentment of our country would allow this thinking. Where does this come from?
No doubt from many causes and effects, but certainly the self-loathing in our nation was born in the 60’s during the Vietnam era, when there were those who openly rooted for the North Vietnamese to conquer the South…and their own nation. The powerful and wealthy America wielded its might and that was just not fair…..not fair.
I will tell you what is not fair. That is to be a citizen of the greatest nation in history, rooted in our love and obedience to our Creator God and have a small band of people who do not like our nation all that much to assert that we do not want God’s blessings for the umpteen billion souls on the planet. Absurdity personified! God Bless America and God Bless all of God’s children.
